At $34.99 (as of August 14, 2026), the KM250 is the rare budget board that doesn't ask you to give something up to hit the price. Hot-swap sockets, PBT caps, a real volume knob and arrow keys normally cost more as a set, and the owners a year in still sound happy about it. Walk in knowing exactly what it is: wired, plastic, and loud enough that your video calls will hear it.
**Thirty-five dollars buys more than it should**
Hot-swap sockets, PBT dual-injection keycaps, a stepped volume knob, a detachable braided USB-C cable, and 67 keys that still include arrows — all at $34.99 as of August 14, 2026. Across 150 ratings it sits at 4.5 stars with 72% of them five, and buyers arriving from Razer, Corsair and Logitech keep calling the build midrange rather than entry-level.
**The sound is a coin flip**
Owners split hard here. One compares the stock acoustics to a Model M — deep, thocky, impossible to hide on a call. Another, coming off a Huntsman Mini, calls it pleasant and not especially loud. Your desk decides. The Kailh Reds ship unlubed and read as competent rather than exciting; one owner says they take a touch more force than a standard Cherry MX Red. The sockets are hot-swap and the puller is in the box, so that's a swap, not a return.
**The missing software cuts both ways**
RGB is hardware-only — no profiles, no per-key colors. Relief if you've fought gaming-brand utilities, a real loss if you liked them.
