Mobil 1 High Mileage 5W-30 full synthetic, after two older cars: strong value per quart, easy driveway pour, and one real gripe about the 5-quart size.

This is the synthetic I'd buy again for anything past 75,000 miles, and I've refilled two old cars with it. If your engine takes 5 quarts and you like stretching changes toward 10,000 miles, it's an easy yes. Just count your quarts before you check out — a six-quart engine turns one cheap bottle into two.
High-mileage oil sounds like a markup with a marketing label. Some of it is. This one earned its spot in our garage anyway.
We run two cars we should have sold by now — a minivan north of 150,000 miles and a sedan not far behind. Both sip a little oil between changes, which is the whole reason high-mileage formulas exist: more of the additives that keep old seals from drying out. I can't crack open the engine and show you that part. Against Valvoline MaxLife High Mileage — same price bracket, also full synthetic — this is close. If you already run MaxLife and trust it, I wouldn't switch just to switch. Mobil's edge for me is the easy-read bottle and a longer track record on the used-car lot.
Buy it if your engine is past 75,000 miles, takes 5 quarts, and you like stretching toward 10,000-mile changes. Skip it if your engine needs 6 quarts and the second-bottle math annoys you, or if you're chasing an active leak — fix that first.
